Demand For Closure of School Due to Second Wave of COVID
On behalf of the TIS parents and students, we must ensure that all students are safe and treated equally, during this pandemic. Entering the second wave of Coivd 19, with 2,547 cases reported on the 19th of November 2020, we urge the school to take action to ensure the safety of the students. Maintaining SOP’s as we have already witnessed, has not been of much use as many of the faculty members have been teaching from home recently and even been infected by the virus. As important as education is to all members of society, ensuring the safety of student lives is just as high a priority, which coming to school puts at risk especially at this point in time. Thankfully however with the advent of technology, we can still manage to function in an orderly manner learning via online classes. Keeping school open for exams, is a high-risk decision that unfairly affects the lives of many families, as many of us live with older members. Not to mention that 95% of cases reported in our city are asymptomatic, which means that they can easily be carriers for the virus and infect others without being tested. Kindly understand the high risks being taken and work towards ensuring the safety of students lives.
